Opening of Classes
By Ea Isabel Rafanan, 6-Responsible
June 6, 2011- St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina finally opened its doors once again to mark the beginning of the new school year. Even though some were nostalgic about summer vacation, others were excited to be reunited with their old friends, acquaintances, and previous teachers. The students were asked to line up in their designated areas to wait for their new class advisers. And the moment they entered their classroom, the adventure began!
For the first week of classes, Scholasticans already experienced lots of exciting activities such as introducing oneself, wherein they shared interesting things about themselves to their classmates, the welcoming activity, getting-to-know-you games and many more.
The focus for this school year is, “Benedictine Education: A Response to the Signs of the Times.” This aims to serve as a wake-up call for every Scholastican to be aware of the things that are happening within and even beyond her community. It also aims to encourage Scholasticans to respond to the needs of the community as a socially oriented school.
With the exciting events lined up, the Scholasticans will surely have a fun-filled year together.
