GS New Teachers

Mrs. Raquel Aclao

A graduate of St. Paul University of Quezon City, Mrs. Aclao holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion Education. She first taught at St. Anthony School, Quezon City where she stayed for five years.  She then transferred to Colegio San Agustin in Makati.

She is now with us because she believes that she can grow professionally here at SSAM. The location of the school is also one of her reasons as she lives near the campus. At present, Mrs. Aclao teaches CLE in all sections in the Grade 6 level as well as in Grade 5 – Courageous and Creative. According to Mrs. Aclao, her colleagues in the school are very helpful, nice, God-fearing, and easy to work with. As for the Scholasticans, she shares that she finds them sweet, humble, obedient, and simple.

Here is her message for all young Scholasticans. “Stay humble, obedient, and simple. Study hard, and we believe that you can do a lot of things that are productive. Always pray to God.”

Miss Alysa Marie Alberto

Ms. Alysa Marie Alberto graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University last March 2011 where
she earned her degree of Bachelor of Arts Major in Interdisciplinary Studies and Psychology. She studied here at SSAM from Prep to 4th year high school, and that is why she decided to teach in her Alma Mater. According to Ms. Alberto, Scholasticans are very simple. She also mentioned that the people
working in the institution are welcoming and helpful especially those whom she usually encounter and ask for help or information regarding the job. At present, Ms. Alberto is the Math teacher and class adviser of Grade 1- Friendly. She also teaches Math in two other sections, 1- Adorable and 1- Gentle.

She would like to share this message with the Scholasticans: “One should know and set her own priorities and work to achieve it. It is also important that whatever mistake one has done, she should move on and learn from it.”

Miss Kriz Mae Amante

Ms. Kriz Mae Amante earned her Bachelor of Library and Information Science degree from the University of the Philippines. She admits that since this is her first experience in the teaching profession, she finds it tiring sometimes because she is also a librarian, but she still enjoys teaching especially the kinder pupils.

Before, Ms. Amante was a librarian at the high school library. Now that she is in the Grade School Department, she describes her co-workers as sensible, helpful, driven with initiative, firm yet approachable, and thoughtful. She finds the Scholasticans respectful, thoughtful, kind-hearted, helpful and intelligent.

At present, she is one of the moderators of the Book Lovers’ Club. She also handles the library periods of Grades 1, 3, 4, K-Masigla and Masinop.  She would like to share this message with the Scholasticans: “Always have faith in God because that alone will help you conquer all the difficulties in life. For in Him, you’ll find peace, contentment, courage, forgiveness, hope and love.”

Miss Vivian Balba

Ms. Vivian Balba is a graduate of Miriam College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Education. She also studied at the Philippine Normal University for her MA in Teaching Reading.

Before teaching at SSAM, she taught at St. Paul’s College, Pasig for four years. She then volunteered as a teacher for disabled people in Davao.

Ms. Balba is presently the class adviser of Grade 3 – Punctual. She also teaches Reading and Language in three sections in the third grade: Diligent, Punctual and Resourceful.

She said that Scholasticans are disciplined, thoughtful and sweet, and they are willing to learn. She also stated that young Scholasticans look very promising as future leaders because they live according to the Benedictine Values.

“Learning is a lifelong process. It is not limited in the four corners of your classroom.  Discover and learn everything that you need to learn. When you fail, use that as a learning opportunity and strength to be your best.” Those were the inspiring words of Ms. Balba as we ended the interview.

Miss Florence Barcil

Ms. Florence Barcil graduated from the Marikina Institute of Science and Technology in 2003 where she took up the course Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Home Economics.

She describes her co-workers as very supportive to the new teachers and they give pieces of advice on how to deal with the students. The helpfulness of the teachers also made it easier for her to adjust to her new home.

Ms. Barcil praises the Scholasticans for being simple, disciplined and respectful. She is presently teaching Art 3 and 4 and Practical Arts 4.

This is her message to the Scholasticans: “Prioritize your studies and do your best in everything you do because your goals and objectives are the maps that will lead you and show you what is possible
for your life. Make your parents proud. May you all reach the peak of your success.  Good Luck!”

Miss JC Caraballos

Ms. JC Caraballos took up BS Secondary Education major in General Science at the Philippine Normal University. She previously worked for Plus Computer College and Infant Jesus Academy-Antipolo.  She decided to teach here at SSAM because she would like to be a part of a school community that truly cares not just for the academic development but also for the holistic formation of a learner.

As a new teacher, Ms. Caraballos felt the support of her colleagues. She witnessed how hardworking they are. She said, “Scholasticans are truly blessed to have all these kinds of people.” She also
mentioned that Scholasticans are far more disciplined and talented compared with all the students she has taught before.

The advisory class of Ms. Caraballos is Grade 2-Humble, and she teaches Science in Grade 2-Kind, Thrifty and Humble. She also teaches Math in 2-Honest and Humble. She said that Scholasticans should be
a blessing to others.

 

Miss Melanie Cruz

Ms. Melanie Cruz is a graduate of Lumen Christi Catechetical Center, Stella Maris College where she finished Bachelor of Science in Religious Education. Currently, she teaches CLE in all Grade 1 sections and Filipino and Social Studies in Grade 1-Gentle, which is her advisory class.

She shares that she finds her work quite challenging since this is only her first year in the profession, but her co-workers help her to adjust. She says that they are very supportive, fantastic, and smart. They
make sure that she and the other new teachers are doing fine and that they are all working with the same spirit of gratitude. She also sees them as people whom she can trust and run to without hesitations. Moreover, her students are easy to manage, kind, humble, and participative so she is
able to teach them without much difficulty.

Ms. Cruz says, “To all the Scholasticans, continue to live out the Benedictine spirit and be a model of faith to each and everyone. Always seek the presence of our Divine One so that you may continue not
just to proclaim His love, but also to be an instrument of Him.”

 

Miss Via Eloisa Dayanghirang

Ms. Via Eloisa D a y a n g h i r a n g graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a bachelor’s degree
in Elementary Education Major in Preschool Education in 2010. She first taught at the College of San Benildo, Rizal before applying as a teacher here at SSAM. Ms. Dayanghirang believes that girls are easier to deal with. She wanted to empower girls as early as preschool, and that made her decide to teach in this school. Presently, she is the class adviser of Grade 2 - Courteous wherein she teaches Math,
Science, Writing and GMRC. She’s also the Math teacher of three other sections in Grade 2.

Ms. Dayanghirang noticed that Scholasticans are very obedient. She also admires the teachers of SSAM for they are very approachable and supportive. She would like to impart this to the Scholasticans: “Be who you are and be the best in everything that you do. Take the negative things as a challenge and charge them to experience. Do all your actions for
the love of God.”

Miss Dianna DelaCruz

Ms. Dianna Dela Cruz graduated from the Philippine Normal University where she took up the course
Bachelor of Elementary Education with English Specialization. This is not her first experience in teaching; she first taught at St. Jude Catholic School. She chose to apply here in our school because it is one of the
prestigious schools in Marikina.

She commends her co-workers for being helpful, approachable and understanding while she describes the Scholasticans as very generous and wellbehaved. She also said that they are disciplined and could follow directions easily.

Ms. Dela Cruz, at present, is the class adviser of Grade 2 – Honest, and she teaches Reading and Language 2 in Humble, Honest, Thrifty and Kind. She also teaches GMRC in her advisory class.

This is her message to the Scholasticans: “Continue soaring high and give pride to our school.”

Miss Anna Rea Gapasin

Ms. Gapasin isa new teacher in the Grade 2 level. She is currently the adviser of 2- Cooperative. She teaches Language and Reading to Grade 2 Cooperative, Courteous and Generous.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Education from Miriam College. She decided to apply as a teacher here at SSAM since a college friend of hers referred her to Ms. Mangubat,
the primary level coordinator, and advised her to apply for the vacant position.

Ms. Gapasin described her coworkers as approachable. As days went by, she noticed that Scholasticans are
disciplined and independent with the way they manage themselves in school compared with her previous students from her past work experiences.

Miss Jonida Jayme

Ms. Jayme might be a familiar face to some Scholasticans as she used to teach in the High School Department. Now we are lucky to have her as a Reading and Language teacher in the Grade 5 level as well as the class adviser of Gr. 5-Peaceful. Ms. Jayme studied at the Marikina Institute of Science and Technology where she earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education degree, major in English. She first worked at St. John Mary Vianney Academy then at SSAM as a high school teacher.She took a break last year and worked for I Can Academy, but she’s now back with us.

When asked about her colleagues, she shared that there is a sense of professionalism and a profound commitment among the employees to concretize the school’s mission and vision and to live out the Benedictine Values. As for the students, she observes that Ora et Labora is evident in them;, but there are some who fail to comply with the rules and regulations of the school. To the Scholasticans: “Be consistent in your goals and dreams. Don’t drown yourselves with trivial things. Be wise in setting your priorities. Nurture yourselves with things that matter like values and character.”

 

Miss Gienieve Ibuna
Ms. Ibuna is a new member of the SSAM Grade School faculty. She graduated from Lumen Christi Catechetical Center, Stella Maris College where she finished Bachelor of Science in Religious Education.

Ms. Ibuna is new to the teaching profession that’s why she felt quite nervous and pressured on her first few days in school. She believes that it’s God’s plan for her to be in this learning institution.

She describes her colleagues as helpful, supportive and easy to be with. She has also noticed that Scholasticans are obedient, prayerful, respectful and courteous. Currently, she is the class adviser of 2- Generous. She also teaches CLE and Science in Grade 2. She shares this with the students: “Do little things with an extraordinary love.”

 

Miss Hannah Lacbayan

Ms. Hannah Lacbayan earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education major in Special Education from the University of Santo Tomas. She first taught at “Gymboree Play and Music” (Eastwood
Branch) wherein she handled the Nursery and Pre-Kinder classes. She also handled some art classes and learning lab classes. She is now the adviser and teacher of all subjects of Kinder Masinop.

She decided to teach here at SSAM because it is one of the good schools near Parang where they moved to from Provident Village after Ondoy in 2009. Also, her parents advised her to teach in a big school to learn more about her profession.

Ms. Lacbayan presented the Scholasticans as very creative and talented. They do things that any Scholastican would be proud of. They are also very passionate and dedicated to their work. They do their best in performing their tasks.

“To all Scholasticans, keep being an inspiration to other people and continue spreading the Benedictine Values the institution has taught us.”

 

Miss Roberta Mari Quiambao

Ms. Quiambao earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies: Anglo- American Literature from the University of the Philippines - Diliman. After working in the printing industry, she became a high
school English teacher at Infant Jesus Academy-Marikina.

At present, Ms. Quiambao is the class adviser of 4-Patient and the Reading and Language 4 teacher of Patient, Prayerful and Sincere. She admires Scholasticans for being bright, obedient, sweet, diligent,
funny and talented while she sees her coworkers as professional, hardworking, helpful and loyal to the school’s vision and mission. She shares to all Scholasticans: “Carpe diem; seize the day! Try to grab every opportunity that comes your way. Do not let a day end without being happy, without sharing your love, without learning,  without growing. Live life to the fullest.”

 

Miss Kristel Chara Remigio

“I want to teach in a Catholic school,” says Ms. Kristel Chara Remigio. This is the main reason why she applied for a teaching position at SSAM. This is Ms. Remigio’s first year as a grade school teacher, but she already has four years of teaching experience in high school.

Ms. Remigio studied at Roosevelt College, Cainta where she finished her BSE Major in Mathematics. She graduated in April 2007.

She said that the veteran teachers of SSAM are very helpful and accommodating. They are very willing to assist new teachers like her. According to her, Scholasticans are very dynamic, active and good academically. Her present assignment in the school is teaching Math 5 in Courageous, Creative, Industrious and Math 4 in Alert. Her advice to the young Scholasticans is to continue living out the Benedictine spirit, strive for excellence and be good always.

 

Miss Beatriz Dominique Tadeo

Ms. Beatriz Dominique Tadeo graduated from the University of Santo Tomas last April 2011. She took up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Studies. This is her first teaching experience and she finds it challenging and fulfilling to be a grade school teacher.

“As an alumna of SSAM, I want to give back and share what I have learned from our school to the other Scholasticans,” Ms. Tadeo said. She also said that she is lucky to have supportive and kind colleagues. She mentioned that they are really helpful to new teachers like her.

According to Ms. Tadeo, Scholasticans are obedient and active when it comes to school activities. She also said that they’re God-fearing and respectful students. Ms. Tadeo is currently the class adviser of Grade 2-Thrifty. She also teaches Social Studies to all the sections in Grade 2 and Writing in Thrifty. What’s her message to the Scholasticans? “Continue being God-fearing and as early as now, start building a good future.”

 

Miss Ma. Jenia Pearl Vega

Ms. Vega is a graduate of Miriam College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Education. She is also taking her MA in Teaching in the Early Grades at the University of the Philippines Diliman. She first worked at La Salle Greenhills then moved to the Our Lady of Succor College.

Presently, she is the class adviser of Grade 3-Respectful and the Science teacher of Respectful, Resourceful, Thoughtful, and Truthful. She also teaches Social Studies in her advisory class.

Very approachable is how she describes her co-workers. She is also grateful because her colleagues are willing to train the new teachers, and they welcome and assure the new members of the faculty that they are always there to give the new teachers their support and guidance. As for her students, she sees them as enthusiastic and well-behaved pupils. They are also very much willing to learn.

To the Scholasticans, she says, “Continue to strive for excellence; exert more effort. Always aim high and be a lifelong learner.”

Mrs. Carol Zamora

Mrs. Carol Zamora is one of the 18 new teachers in the Grade School Department of SSAM for school year 2011- 2012.

Mrs. Zamora graduated in 2007 with the degree of BSE Major in Math. Her first teaching experience was in Sta. Cecilia Parochial School. She then decided to transfer here at SSAM because our school is known
for following true discipline and living out the Benedictine Values. Another reason is that her house is just near the school.

Mrs. Zamora is presently a Grade 5 Math teacher in three sections. She described her co-teachers as disciplined, intelligent, hardworking and dedicated workers.

Mrs. Zamora’s message to the Scholasticans is this: “Stay disciplined even outside SSAM and try your very best to live out the Benedictine Values and live the simplest of your lives.”
