STATEMENT OF POLICIES

The home shall fully support the school in the implementation of the total school program – curricular and co-curricular – toward the proper physical, social, intellectual and moral development of the child.”   Art. 76, The Child and Youth Welfare Code

 

1.      Parents and/or legal guardians have the duty and responsibility to keep track of the progress of their children/wards in school. They are encouraged to confer with school authorities at their own initiative or to come whenever they are called for conference. This is to ensure the cooperation and coordination required for a harmonious working relationship between the school and the home for the welfare of the student.

 

2.      SSAM High School acknowledges its obligation to exercise reasonable supervision over the conduct of the students in order to cultivate their best potentials of heart and mind. In its role “in loco parentis,” the school exercises substitute parental authority over the students in school and school related activities. (Civil Code, Art. 39)

 

3.      The rules and regulations of SSAM High School as stated in this Student Handbook are intended to enhance the life in and out of school of the Scholastican as she relates and interacts with the members of the school community.

 

4.      The enrollment of a student at SSAM High School is taken as an expressed willingness on her part and consequently on the part of her parents and/or legal guardians to abide by all rules and regulations of the school. Thus, the student and her parents and/or guardians commit themselves to the strict observance of all school rules and regulations.

 

5.      The SSAM High School reserves the right to admit, re-admit, refuse admission or drop from the rolls a student on the basis of her academic performance and/or conduct and attendance.

 

6.      Either as individuals or as a group, students may not use the name, logo and seal of St. Scholastica’s Academy, Marikina without official authorization.

 

7.      As a Catholic school with Catholic Benedictine Formation at the heart of its curriculum, SSAM requires all students to attend and pass all requirements of their CLE (Religion) classes as prerequisite for promotion and graduation.
