GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 

OBJECTIVE:
The SSAM Grants and Scholarship Program aims to assist financially deprived but deserving students to set foot in St. Scholastica’s Academy and have access to quality education.


COMMITTEE:
The Grants and Scholarship Committee for each department is composed of the Registrar, Principal  of Grade School or High School,  and the Head of the Student Development Center in consultation with the Directress. The Registrar will gather necessary papers to be presented and evaluated by the committee. A background investigation is a must (home visit and interview).

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF SCHOLARS AND GRANTEES: 
Financially deprived to pay the required tuition fee.
The applicant must have an average grade of 82% and no failing mark in any subject.
The applicant and parent/s must both pass the interview.

She must possess good moral character and good health

CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP: 
All requirements will be submitted to the Registrar for assessment and approval of the committee, in consultation with the Directress.
The grantee must maintain an average grade of not lower than 82, and with no failing grade in any subject during the school year.
Those who cannot keep the required general average of 82 will be informed of termination of the grant at the end of the school year.
If placed under academic or disciplinary probation, the grantee automatically loses the scholarship.
The grant shall be on yearly basis upon recommendation of the committee.

GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR ENTRY: 
Submit letter stating why they are applying for financial assistance.
Fill up the application form in duplicate.
Interview and home visitation
Written examination  (for new TD Applicants only)
Submission of requirements
- 3 pcs. ,1 x 1 ID picture, colored
-Original and photocopy of report card
- Character reference
- Original and photocopy of baptismal and birth certificate.
-Parents’ Income Tax Return for the last three years.
