Junior Girl Scouts' Virtual Camping
By: Mrs. Pamela Baroman, Junior GSP Moderator
The Junior Girl Scouts of the Grade -4 Level had their Virtual Camping last April 30 and May 1, 2021.
The activity started in making the make-shift tents. They enjoyed preparing their tents with their families. Art workshop started at 8:00 in the evening with the invited facilitator, Miss Clarissa "Issay" Rodriguez. The girls had fun identifying the fruits in the farm, making their own digital fruit farm and writing a prayer for the Filipino farmers.
It was followed by the Campfire Ceremony. The girls showed their talents in singing and reciting poems. Mrs. Jonida Santos, the Grade-4 Level Team Leader facilitated the Camp Chat. She encouraged the girls to continue doing their best and be productive citizens of the country. It made the girls inspired and motivated to be active girl scouts and be true leaders.
The following morning, May 1, the girls woke up at around 5:30 am. They started the morning activity with the Scout's Own Ceremony which focused on loving and appreciating themselves. They made a promise to take good care of themselves. After which, they shared their experiences during the entire Virtual Camping. They shared how excited they were preparing their make-shifts tents, having the art workshop and the campfire ceremony. To end the event, they had their breakfast together. While having their breakfast, they had informal conversations about their personal life, experiences during their online classes and hopes for the next school year. It was a fun-filled virtual activity for the Junior Girl Scouts. It made their experiences as girl scouts in the new normal more enjoyable and memorable.
